Alice Lloyd sophomore forward Nick Brumback scored 20 points, including a key basket down the stretch, to propel the home standing ALC Eagles to a thrilling 69-68 victory over the Indiana University-East Red Wolves. With the win, ALC avenged an earlier season loss in Richmond, Indiana.{nl}In the first half, the Eagles trailed by eight before Brumback caught fire. He rammed in 16 points, and by intermission, ALC had squeaked ahead 34-33.{nl}In the final twenty minutes, IUE rode the coattails of all conference guard Tyler Rigby to take the lead. A Brent Burris three with only 6:38 remaining gave the visitors breathing room at 63-58, but they only scored five points the rest of the way.{nl}Alice Lloyd then got a big bucket and a free throw from junior Daniel Combs to slice the deficit to 2. After an IUE miss, Alice Lloyd’s Brumback scored with 1:35 remaining to tie the score at 68.{nl}A missed Red Wolf shot was corralled by Eagle forward Brandon Hayes, who was fouled with 1:02 left. Hayes connected on 1-2 from the charity stripe to put the Eagles up one. {nl}IUE missed three attempts on their next possession, but ALC fumbled the ball out of bounds The Red Wolves looked to go ahead with: 30 remaining, but good Eagle defense held them scoreless once more. {nl}Forced to foul, Indiana put ALC on the line with: 09 remaining. When Eagle Michael Lindon rimmed both shots out, it gave the Wolves one last opportunity.{nl}Alice Lloyd denied the ball to Rigby, which forced Indiana’s Bijon Jones to take a contested 15 footer. The shot bounced off the mark as time expired.For ALC (7-17; 2-8), {nl}In addition to Brumback, Combs reached double figures with 12. Junior forward Will Jones and Hayes just missed double figures with 9 apiece. Hayes registered a game high 11 rebounds.{nl}For IUE (12-12; 4-6) Rigby paved the way with a game high 23.{nl}ALC was scheduled to play Cincinnati Christian at home on Monday, February 15. The game has been postponed due to inclement weather in the Cincinnati area until Wednesday, February 17.The Eagles travel to New Albany, Indiana on Tuesday, February 16, to face the nations 4th ranked team, the Grenadiers of Indiana University Southeast. They close out the season on Saturday, February 20 in Owensboro vs. the Brescia Bearcats.{nl}
