The Alice Lloyd Lady Eagles took a seven point lead after twenty minutes of play, but fell at the end to the visiting Asbury College Eagles 72-66.{nl}In the first half, ALC came out well. Sparked defensively by the entire squad (they held Asbury to 28% shooting), and offensively by 19 first half points from sophomore Heather Martin, ALC took a 35-28 lead at intermission.{nl}In the second half, AC fought back behind guard Laura Carroll to take their first lead at 43-41 with 14:45 remaining. The game remained close, but ALC was never able to regain a lead.{nl}For ALC (6-12; 2-4), three ladies reached double figures. Martin led the way with game highs of 27 points and 13 rebounds. She was followed by junior Bailey Gabbard with 14 points on 4 three point baskets and 2-2 free throws Sophomore Gemma Gray chipped in with 10.{nl}Asbury (8-11; 2-4) was led by Carroll with 25.{nl}The Lady Eagles return home for conference action on Tuesday February 2nd when they play host to the Grenadiers of Indiana University-Southeast. Game time is set for 7pm.
