The Alice Lloyd Eagles fell to the host Berea Mountaineers 103-88. The shootout was marked by several runs from both squads.{nl}The hosts, who are one of the top teams in the KIAC, jumped out of the gates quickly. Sparked by the play of their All- American guard Mikah Turner, they increased their margin to 48-34 at the half. {nl}In the second half, Berea maintained their lead until the 12:00 mark, when they extended it to 20 (70-50).{nl}With the game slipping out of reach, the Eagles then went into a press. Inspired defensively by tenacious hustle from the entire club, and offensively by the shooting of guards Daniel Combs, Van Ferguson, and Will Jones, they gave the Mountaineers fits. ALC slowly began to whittle away at the huge deficit, and incredibly, they trailed by only 3 (78-75) with 5:00 left.{nl}After another Alice Lloyd steal, Ferguson was fouled and had a chance to slice the lead to 1. Unfortunately, the sophomore, who is normally an automatic foul shooter, rimmed both shots just off the mark. BC then went on a quick 8-0 run to finally slam the door shut.{nl}For the Eagles (6-13; 1-4), Ferguson led the way with 22. Juniors Combs and Jones netted 21 and 17 apiece. Combs also pulled down a game high 11 rebounds, and finished the night with a double-double. Sophomore Brandon Hayes also hit double figures and added 11 points.
