The Alice Lloyd Eagles broke open a close game by outscoring the host Kentucky Christian University Knights 52-32 in the second half, and won going away, 92-64.{nl}The Knights have a well earned reputation as being a challenging team to play on their home court, but after falling at the Grady Nutt Athletic Center to KCU by three points last month, ALC was determined not to have a repeat performance. Both clubs played hard in the first twenty minutes, but the Eagles were able to perform well enough to grind out a 40-32 lead by intermission.{nl}The second half belonged to Alice Lloyd. After shooting 46% in the opening stanza, the Eagles connected on 56% from the field in the final twenty minutes while holding the Knights to only 39%. With their solid play, ALC was able to turn what was once a close game into an insurmountable lead as they earned the decisive victory.{nl}For the victors (3-5) they were led in scoring by junior guard Daniel Combs with 20 points. For good measure, he also added game high 11 rebounds. Big sophomore forward Nick Brumback powered in 14, while 6’10 freshman center Devon Adams came off the bench to net 12.{nl}For KCU (6-4), they were led in scoring by the Illic brothers. Svetomir led all scorers with 24, while Cedomir added 12. {nl}ALC‘s next scheduled contest will be Saturday December 12, when they return home to face a NCAA III foe, the Golden Eagles of Spalding University. Tipoff is set for 2pm.
